Korean fried chicken, probably the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted. Honestly saying I am so addicted with it. Crispy fried chicken coated with special sauce, no gravy, no catsup whatsoever needed. I tried recreating it at home and I never was able to capture the crispiness of the chicken. First time I tasted it was from BonChon Chicken and was really great.
Just a little bit of info, Kyochon is known as one of the best Korean fried chicken in South Korea. It has branches in US, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines. It is being endorsed by Korean actor Lee Min Ho and is chosen as Best Chicken restaurants by South Koreans for 13 consecutive years.
Last month while accompanying my mom shopping, we decided to eat at Kyochon for dinner before going home. Kyochon Philippines is located at Upper Ground Floor SM Megamall Building B, EDSA cor Julia Vargas Avenue, Mandaluyong City.
Ambiance: It has a modern industrial look, wooden tables and chairs, really nice and cozy ambiance.
Staffs: The waitress taking our order looked as though she’s so bored with her work. When we requested for water, we needed to repeat it to several other staffs. We waited for an hour or so for our order to come. To be honest, the service was really not good considering the fact that the restaurant was not that busy at the time. It makes us feel as though we are not welcome to eat at their restaurant.
Food: We ordered the set meal for 4 which consist of 4 drinks, 4 bowls of rice, 4 bowls of rice cake soup and 1 whole chicken cut to small pieces. I guess I can say that it’s worth the wait. The fried chicken was crispy and crunchy coated with the glaze or flavour of your choice (we chose soy garlic as they say it’s their best seller.) Unlike other fried chicken where the flavour only stays on the skin. You can taste the soy garlic flavour can also be tasted from the juicy meat. Also the chicken is not greasy. The rice cake soup was okay.
Overall: Although the service was not so good the chicken was really tasty and has a great flavour and not greasy.
